Luxury Container House

Project Completed
The Beginning
Building a holiday home next to the Wilge River has always been a dream. The original plans for the property date back to the early 2000s, when Thys and Ian Cronje designed a stone house to be built on the banks of the river. However, the project was halted when the proposed location was flooded by the Wilge River. This setback sparked the idea to build a house on pillars, allowing the water to flow freely underneath in the event of future floods, ensuring both safety and connection to the natural beauty of the river.

The Beginning
In July 2024, we acquired a set of tents that were carefully disassembled and relocated to their new home at Wilge River Lodge. The tents were then re-erected in the stunning Poppelier Tree Forest, blending seamlessly with the natural beauty of the surroundings. This relocation allowed us to offer guests a unique and immersive experience, surrounded by the tranquility of the forest while still enjoying the comforts of our well-equipped tents.
